What crosses your mind when you think or listen to music? Is it the melody? Is it the musical instrument used? Or is it the rhythm, harmony and repetition? As for my opinion, music is something which is created in order to be perceived as music, and neither concept can be defined independently of the other. I might say that music has an emotional effect, and some music consistently expresses particular emotions or music sometimes is capable of influence people action. Let have a review on some genre of music. First of all, As a Johorean, I love to review on my county song first before move or compare on to the other genre of music. Tanjung Puteri is the song most commonly associated with Johor. Personally, I don't really into the traditional song, however, I don't say that I can't adapt it. I find traditional song has it own specialty and attraction. For example on how the lyric was written. I find that the rhythm at the end of every sentence of the song is synchronize. Plus, the meaning of the song itself, how a song was describe by the singer and in the same time it can draw your attention on the beauty of Johor. Enough with the description of traditional music. Now I would like to share with you a bit about the music that interests me. I love classic pop songs like a music brought by ABBA. First let me brief you a bit about ABBA background info since I am a die-hard-fan of this group. ABBA started in 1971 and ended as group in 1982. This group was founded by Vicky Zetterberg in 1955 in Gothenburg, Sweden. ABBA music have an aura that I just can't resist it, the songs touch directly to my heart and at the same time give a massage on the importance of friends, family and love. Plus, their music inspired me a lot and I never feel tired of listening to them compare to the nowadays music where I can easily get bored listen to them. I act this way maybe because of the elements of the music nowadays is lack of strength in the content of the lyrics, massage send to the listener and music used itself. Yet, I do love the variety genre in music because for me each music send a different massage and can united people. Here I aslo attached some albums by ABBA =)
